Our company was created because our founders experienced a real-world need. Our Co-founder’s sister had a difficult pregnancy and this kind of technology would have really helped her doctors care for her. We started researching ultrasound technology and were stunned to learn that 50% of the world, including many of our communities in our home state of Arizona, do not have access to ultrasound. We decided to form a team to develop a technology to begin tackling this this global-scale problem.
We are headquartered in Tucson, Arizona at the University of Arizona Tech Park.
We’re a multicultural, multilingual team and we wanted to capture the meaning of what it means to see inside the body to make a diagnosis. “Vista” is a word in Spanish that means view. Our VistaScan technology enables clinicians to view as they scan, hence the chosen name
Emagine Solutions Technology is on a mission to provide access to ultrasound so clinicians can save lives.
VistaScan is our first product. Our VistaScan platform transforms a doctor’s cell phone or tablet into an ultrasound machine. With VistaScan doctors can diagnose patients in moments, saving time and ultimately lives at a fraction of the cost of a traditional cart ultrasound machine.
VistaScan is not available to the general public. The sale of VistaScan is restricted to physicians, or on the order of a physician. This includes for prescription use and those working under the guidance of a board-certified physician.
VistaScan has been cleared by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and is safe and effective to use in patient care.
To access the VistaScan app, go to the Google Play Store and search for VistaScan Mobile Ultrasound. You can download the app directly from the Play Store.
VistaScan automatically installs once you have downloaded it to your cell phone or tablet from the Google Play Store. Sometimes, the security settings on your device may prevent VistaScan from installing. If this occurs, please check your device’s security settings, contact your organization’s IT department, or contact our customer support for assistance.
You can currently use B-mode (black and white) imaging with VistaScan. Color flow capability is coming soon on the platform.
VistaScan has been cleared for use by the FDA with a specific set of probes that have been proven to be safe and effective for diagnostic ultrasound imaging, therefore compatible probes must be used with the system.
We notify all customers when a software update is available. In addition, you can configure your device to allow apps to be updated automatically. If your VistaScan-compatible device is configured to automatically update apps, the VistaScan app updates automatically when an update is available, unless the update includes a permissions change. In that case, per the Android operating system requirements, you are prompted to update the VistaScan app. If you have any questions about app updates, feel free to reach out to customer support and we can help guide you.
All software updates are conducted through the Google Play Store.
Absolutely. Just download the VistaScan app on your new device and plug in the probe. You may be prompted to enter a specific request code. Follow the onscreen instructions or feed free to reach out to our support team for guidance.

There are three compatible probes with the VistaScan imaging system. Which probe you use depends on how you will use the system.
General Purpose Probe:
We recommend the General Purpose Probe as a great tool for fetal, abdominal, and small organ imaging. The General Purpose Probe is best suited for quick scans in transit, in the field, in global health, and in medical school instruction. This probe is a workhorse and serves as a budget ultrasound solution to do basic quick look diagnosis.
We recommend the Curvilinear Probe for clinical settings that serve fetal and obstetric imaging, Abdominal, Urology, Muscular-skeletal, Small Organs, Neuromuscular, Pelvic Floor imaging needs. The Curvilinear Probe is one of the most lightweight probes in the industry and is great for those with ergonomic concerns who do lots of repetitive scanning.
We recommend the linear probe for pediatric scanning, small organs, peripheral vessels, and pelvic floor imaging. The linear probe is also great for thyroid, MSK, anesthesiology, and vascular scanning. This probe is the one to use for line placement.
Our company takes privacy seriously. We developed this application with HIPAA compliance in mind to help ensure our customers’ and their patients’ information is protected.
No, we believe in giving clinicians flexibility so you can focus on patient care. For that reason, VistaScan does not require cloud storage to scan or save images.
